Publication Schedule
Frequency
Problems of Modern Law is published quarterly, in four issues per volume year. Each volume corresponds to a calendar year.
Issue Calendar
- Issue 1 — published in March
- Issue 2 — published in June
- Issue 3 — published in September
- Issue 4 — published in December
Rolling Submissions
The journal accepts manuscripts on a continuous, rolling basis. There is no closed submission window: a manuscript may be submitted on any day of the year and enters the editorial workflow immediately upon receipt. Each manuscript is processed independently through screening and review, and is assigned to an issue once it has been accepted.
Indicative Deadlines
To be considered for a particular issue, a manuscript should reach the editorial office approximately six weeks before the publication month, allowing time for screening, review, revision, and production:
- Issue 1 (March) — indicative deadline: mid-January
- Issue 2 (June) — indicative deadline: mid-April
- Issue 3 (September) — indicative deadline: mid-July
- Issue 4 (December) — indicative deadline: mid-October
These dates are indicative rather than binding. Because the review period is targeted at four to eight weeks, a manuscript submitted close to a deadline may require a further round of revision and will then be carried to the following issue. Submitting well in advance of the deadline materially improves the prospect of publication in the intended issue.
Issue Assignment
Accepted manuscripts are assigned to the next issue with available capacity, in order of acceptance date. The editorial office informs authors of the assigned volume, issue, and expected publication month at the point of acceptance. Where an issue is thematically organized, the editorial office may propose reassignment to a later issue, subject to the authors' agreement.
Publication and Identifiers
Articles are published as a complete issue rather than individually ahead of print. Crossref DOIs are registered on the day of issue publication, and deposit with the journal's archiving and indexing partners follows immediately. Any change to the publication calendar will be announced in advance on this page.
