Privacy Statement

Scope

This statement explains how Problems of Modern Law and its publisher handle the personal data of authors, reviewers, editors, and site visitors. It applies to the journal's website, its Open Journal Systems submission portal, and all editorial correspondence.

Use of Personal Data

The names and email addresses entered on this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. This principle governs every stage of the journal's operation.

Data We Collect

  • Authors — full name, academic degree and position, institutional affiliation, country, email address, ORCID identifier, and the content of submitted manuscripts and correspondence.
  • Reviewers — full name, affiliation, email address, subject areas of expertise, and the content of review reports.
  • Site visitors — technical data limited to that required for the secure operation of the site.

Purposes of Processing

Personal data is processed solely in order to administer submission and peer review; to correspond with authors and reviewers; to publish articles together with the author metadata that scholarly publication requires; to register DOIs and deposit metadata with Crossref, indexing services, and preservation archives; and to meet the journal's record-keeping obligations. Author names, affiliations, and ORCID identifiers are published as part of the article record and are transmitted to indexing and archiving services as an inherent part of scholarly publication.

Disclosure to Third Parties

The journal does not sell, rent, or trade personal data and does not use it for marketing. Data is transferred to third parties only where operationally necessary for the publishing functions described above, namely to Crossref, indexing and abstracting services, and preservation archives, and only in respect of published article metadata.

Personal Data Legislation

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data" and the subordinate legislation adopted under it. Data is collected for defined, lawful purposes; is limited to what those purposes require; is kept accurate and up to date; and is stored no longer than necessary for editorial, archival, and legal purposes. Appropriate organizational and technical measures are applied to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and loss.

Rights of Data Subjects

Individuals whose personal data the journal holds may request access to that data, request the correction of inaccuracies, withdraw consent to further processing, and request erasure of their data, subject to the journal's obligation to preserve the integrity of the published scholarly record. Author metadata forming part of a published article cannot be removed, since it constitutes part of the permanent citation record.

Cookies

The site uses only those cookies necessary for its basic operation, including session management and authentication in the submission portal. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are deployed.
