Author Guidelines
Before You Submit
Manuscripts must fall within the scope of one of the journal's seven sections, present an original scholarly contribution, and comply in full with the requirements below. Manuscripts that do not meet the formal requirements are returned without review.
Languages and the Trilingual Metadata Rule
Manuscripts are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, or English. Irrespective of the language of the article, every submission must include an English title, an English abstract of 150-250 words, and 5-7 English keywords. Articles written in Uzbek or Russian must also carry title, abstract, and keywords in the language of the article. English-language metadata is verified during copyediting; where the supplied English is inadequate, the editorial office will require revision before acceptance.
Manuscript Structure
- Title — precise and informative, normally not exceeding 15 words; avoid abbreviations.
- Author information — full name, position and academic degree, institutional affiliation, city and country, email address, and ORCID identifier for each author. Authors without an ORCID are asked to register one at https://orcid.org/.
- Abstract — 150-250 words, structured as a single paragraph covering the problem addressed, the methods or analytical approach, the principal findings, and the conclusions. The abstract must be self-contained and must not include citations.
- Keywords — 5 to 7 terms, separated by semicolons, reflecting the substantive content of the article.
- Body — organized either according to the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion) for empirical work, or according to a legal-analytical structure for doctrinal and comparative work: introduction and statement of the problem; review of the literature and normative framework; analysis, presented in numbered thematic sections; and discussion of implications.
- Conclusion — a substantive section setting out the findings, their significance, and, where appropriate, concrete proposals for legislative or practical reform. A conclusion that merely restates the introduction is not acceptable.
- Declarations — funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, and, where applicable, the AI Use Statement.
- References — a single list in alphabetical order, in Roman script.
Length
Manuscripts should be between 6 and 20 pages in the journal's template, inclusive of references, tables, and figures. Reviews and legal commentary for Section 7 may be shorter, but must be at least 4 pages. Submissions exceeding 20 pages require prior agreement with the editorial office.
References and Transliteration
References follow APA 7th edition style, with in-text author-date citation. The reference list must be presented entirely in Roman script: sources originally published in Cyrillic must be transliterated, with an English translation of the title supplied in square brackets and the original language indicated. For example: Ivanov, A. A. (2023). Ugolovnaya otvetstvennost yuridicheskikh lits [Criminal liability of legal entities]. Gosudarstvo i Pravo, 12(4), 33-47. (In Russian). Legislation, international instruments, and judicial decisions are cited in footnotes with their full official designation, date, and, where available, an official or permanent URL. DOIs must be supplied for all cited sources that have them.
Formatting and Files
Manuscripts are submitted in DOCX format using the official journal template, which is available for download from the submission portal. The template specifies typeface, spacing, margins, heading levels, and citation formatting; authors should not alter these settings. Tables and figures are numbered consecutively, each with a caption and a source note, and are placed in the text at the point of first reference. Figures must also be supplied as separate image files at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. For double-blind review, a second, anonymized copy of the manuscript must be uploaded with all author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and self-identifying references removed.
Submission Procedure
All manuscripts are submitted through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) portal. Authors register an account, complete the metadata for every co-author in the order in which they are to appear, upload the manuscript and anonymized copy, and confirm the submission declarations. Submissions sent by email are not entered into the review workflow except by prior arrangement with the editorial office. There is no submission fee.
