Archiving and Indexing

Digital Preservation

Problems of Modern Law maintains the long-term availability of its published record through two independent preservation channels:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) — a dark archive operated for Open Journal Systems publishers on LOCKSS-based distributed preservation infrastructure. Content is deposited automatically upon publication and can be restored and made publicly available if the journal ceases to operate.
  • Zenodo (CERN) — archival copies of published articles are deposited in Zenodo, the open research repository operated by CERN, providing an independent, institutionally backed copy of the version of record together with its metadata.

In addition, the publisher maintains regular internal backups of the full journal database and article files.

Metadata and Harvesting

The journal exposes an OAI-PMH endpoint conforming to the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting, allowing aggregators, repositories, and discovery services to harvest article metadata automatically in Dublin Core and related formats. Every article receives a Crossref DOI, and full metadata — including titles, abstracts, author names with ORCID identifiers, affiliations, licence terms, and reference lists — is deposited with Crossref at the time of publication. Reference deposit enables citation linking through Crossref Cited-by.

Indexing from Launch

The journal's content is deposited with, or registered in, the following services from the launch of the first issue:

  • Crossref — DOI registration and reference linking
  • Google Scholar
  • ROAD — Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (following ISSN assignment)
  • BASE — Bielefeld Academic Search Engine
  • CORE
  • OpenAlex
  • Zenodo
  • OpenAIRE
  • CyberLeninka
  • eLibrary.ru (RSCI / RINTs)
  • Slib.uz / UzSCI — national scholarly information systems of Uzbekistan

Roadmap Targets

The journal is working toward inclusion in the following services. Applications to several require a minimum publication history, and the journal will apply as soon as the eligibility criteria are satisfied. These are stated as objectives, not as current memberships:

  • DOAJ — Directory of Open Access Journals
  • EBSCO
  • HeinOnline / Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP)
  • ERIH PLUS
  • Scopus
  • Web of Science

Accuracy of Claims

The journal states its indexing status accurately at all times. No service is listed as achieved until formal confirmation of inclusion has been received, and this page is updated as each application is decided. The journal does not report impact-factor-style indicators and does not participate in unverified metric services.
